According to a study published by the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), higher intake of eggs boosts cardiovascular risk and also a premature death.

This new study revealed that according to the amount consumed of this food, increases or decreases the chances of suffering some diseases.

A New Study By JAMA

Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) has analyzed this data from 29,615 healthy adults who had taken part in 6 different studies. And determined that egg consumption or dietary cholesterol are associated with cardiovascular disease risk or early death from any cause.

Causing Cardiovascular Damage And Even Premature Death

According to a new study by doctors from universities in the United States, consuming more than three eggs a week can cause a considerable increase in cholesterol levels in addition to causing cardiovascular damage and even premature death.

And, in case you did not know, the yolk contains high amounts of cholesterol, approximately 185 milligrams per piece.

If you consume around 300 milligrams of cholesterol a day increases the risk of suffering an early death in 18% and 17% suffer from cardiovascular disease. For those who consume three to four eggs per week, increases 6% the risk of experiencing either of these.

The consumption of two eggs a day would increase the risk of cardiovascular disease by 27% and of premature death by 34%, regardless of age, activity levels, sex, consumption habits of substances such as alcohol or tobacco or background of high blood pressure.

The doctors said that the more eggs you eat, the greater the risk of having these problems, including strokes.

Previously other studies revealed that higher consumption of eggs did not increase the risk of having these conditions, but the new study by Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) contradicts previous research, based on an analysis of thousands of volunteers who gave data on their dietary history which were collected.

However, the results of the study are observational. They may suggest but not prove the relationship of consumption with the increase in the aforementioned conditions.

Doctors suggest that you consume no more than two or three eggs per week, moderate in the consumption of any other food rich in cholesterol and with respect to eggs, eat the egg white and not the yolk which is where most of the food is of cholesterol. Now that you know this, you can take into account or not the recommendations. You are the one who will take care of your health.
